The base model Mondeo (A.K.A. the Fusion in the States) is a four-door family sedan. The ST 220, on the other hand, is a completely different beast altogether. Thankfully, Top Gear has taken the liberty to show us the big differences that little ST badge makes.
The ST220 badge elevated the Mondeo, and gave it the kudos to park in a line of 5 Series Beemers and E Class Mercs. Of course, it wasn’t just an exercise in the aesthetic. There was a performance element, too. In the case of the ST220, that meant a Duratec 30 V6 engine.
You'll forgive the Mondeo its minor ergonomic pratfalls when you hit the road. Most of the engines on offer were all-new at launch, the exception being the 170bhp 2.5-litre V6: fair enough - there wasn't much wrong with that. Since then, a second 217bhp V6 has been developed for the flagship ST220, this being 3.0-litres in size.
The Ford Mondeo is a car manufactured by Ford since 1993. The first Ford model declared as a "world car", [4] [5] the Mondeo was intended to consolidate several Ford model lines worldwide (the European Sierra, the Telstar in Asia and Australia, and the Tempo/Mercury Topaz in North America).

Hi guys, recently have just upgraded my car from an ST200 to an ST220. I have to admit I love my new car, it is far superior in every way! Apart from 1 thing.the sound. with my ST200 it had a great pitch and sounded great without any modifications at all!
Most were ordered, and quite rightly so, in Imperial Blue. Though Ford did offer the ST200 in Stardust Silver, Panther Black and Radiant Red. The Police also had some, in white, of course. Blue was the hue, though. The one to have. An ocean of colour that suits the lines of the Mondeo well.
